SpeechMate in Bratislava

November 24, 2010

It's always nice to find a reference to one of our apps long after it's been released. While Googling Jahkou recently I came across the Toastmasters Bratislava website with a blog post about helpful speech timers. One of the tools listed was SpeechMate! It's nice to see our first app still alive and kicking after being released so long ago.

It's that time folks, The Dojo: Ninja Jump has hit iTunes! Organizing our code: Versions and ToirtoiseSVN

November 18, 2010

Up until now JahKou's code and version control has been a simple folder and manual backup process that didn't provide any organized way for us to track our growing software library for the iPhone. Back when we only had SpeechMate and Pulsar it wasn't an issue keeping master copies around as our internal official releases. Our code and designs have become more complicated and as a result we started using SVN (Subversion) to stay organized. We use TortoiseSVN on our server to manage the master copies and we installed Versions for our Mac laptops. I would highly recommend both as we spent a good amount of time researching SVN management and client software and we feel both of these are the best. Versions' interface is simple and easy to understand for the Mac while TortoiseSVN is integrated into the Windows shell for quick access to SVN functionality.

Scurvy Diver Released

March 19, 2010

We are happy to announce that Scurvy Diver has finally hit the app store this week! After about 5 months of development, at least 2 major revisions and a complete graphics overhaul we have finally delivered what we believe to be a stable version of the game. Scurvy Diver is based on the Cocos2d for iPhone framework and it was a tremendous learning experience for the Jahkou team.
